What does Peterborough Sands do?

Peterborough Sands is the local branch of Sands (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death charity) which supports anyone affected by the death of a baby and promotes research to reduce the loss of babies lives.

We can offer you one to one support or anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby is welcome to attend our support meetings held on the third Sunday of every month at Riverside Pavillion.  Whatever the gestation of your baby, whether they were stillborn, died after birth, miscarried or you had to make the heartbreaking decision to end a pregnancy for medical reasons you can find support with us.  If your baby died very recently or a long time ago we can also provide support and information.  If you would like further information on anything please email:  sandspeterborough@gmail.com

We also promote awareness and will be working with local hospitals, healthcare professionals and the National Childbirth Trust in Peterborough to ensure those who lose a baby receive the best care and advice they can.  If you would like some advice or information about anything please email: sandspeterborough@gmail.com.

We have lots of fundraising activities planned over the coming year and will update this site with information about them.  If you can help in any way we would love to hear from you.

If you need support or advice at the moment please email sandspeterborough@gmail.com and leave your name, address and telephone number and I will call you as soon as I can (usually within 48 hours) or call the Peterborough Sands group on 07553 968877 where you will reach our answerphone and you should get a call back within 48 hours.  Alternatievely call the national Sands helpline on 0207  436 5881 (open during office hours) or visit the forum to talk to others in a similar situation http://www.forum.sandsforum.org/
